English Grammar For Beginner (Based on The Classes of Word) Chapter 03
1. Basic English Grammar
The Classes of word:-
There are two classes of word.
A. Form Classes :- (Change able)
E.g. Boy-Boys, Cow-cows, Pen-pens, Cry-cries.
B. Structure Classes:- (Not Change able)
E.g. At, In, On, The, Very, I, We, That. Etc.
A. Form Classes (Change able) :-In this class is changed the form of word.
In this section we are able to make many words from a word.
This class gives the dictionary meaning of word.
E.g. Boy-Boys, Cow-cows, Pen-pens, Cry-cries.
There are four types of form classes.
Noun
Verb
Adjective
Adverb
Form Classes (Change able) :- There are there ways to change of words.
1. Prefixes :- A prefix is a letter or group of letter that is added to the beginning of a word in order to form a different word.
E.g. Un, ir, im, il, re, pre, en, in, over, out, up, sub, pro, de, dis etc.
un + happy = unhappy.
2. Suffixes :- A suffix is a letter or group of letters that is added to the end of a word in order to form a different word.
E.g. s, es, ‘s, d, ed, en, ing, y, ly, er, est, ful, ous, etc.
Eat + ing = eating.
B. Structure Classes:- (Not Change able) :-
In this class is not changed the form of word.
In structure classes we cannot create new words from a word.
This class gives the acceptable meaning of word.
E.g. At, In, On, The, Very, I, We, That. Etc.
Structure Classes:- (Not Change able) :-
There are four types of Structure classes.
Pronoun
Preposition
Conjunction
Interjection
2. Word Practice:-
Make the new word to add suffixes and prefixes.
1. By – Suffixes
Toy, Fox, Play, Eat, Fig, Speed, Rare.
2. By – Prefixes
Direct, Moral, Pair, Courage, Agree
